Nikki Haley, a former Republican governor of South Carolina, delivered her first campaign speech on Wednesday in her home state of South Carolina, barely one day after announcing her desire to run for president in 2024. Haley served as governor of South Carolina from 2011 to 2014.
The incumbent governor of South Carolina and a former ambassador to the United Nations kicked off her campaign on Wednesday with a number of controversial statements, including a demand for “mandated mental fitness testing for officials over the age of 75.”
